Founded in 1998 by Colin Caygill, Rival Arts has gained a resounding reputation for well managed, creative and imaginative public and corporate events. Since the late 90’s Rival Arts, based at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle upon Tyne, has worked with a number of high profile organisations including Durham University, Westmorland Limited, Northern Sinfonia, Newcastle Racecourse, East Durham & Houghall College, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and North Country Leisure. In 2008 Rival Arts launched a series of new retail events across the North, designed to encompass the Arts, Crafts, Gifts and Food market in a relaxing, interesting environment. On 1st January 2012, Rival Arts became supporters of The Great North Air Ambulance. Whilst all Fairs will remain free entry, visitors will be encouraged to contribute voluntarily to this very important charity.
